Texting service for the deaf

A new text messaging service has been launched, allowing people to send emergency service requests on their mobile phones.

It's aimed primarily at those with hearing difficulties, and is being spearheaded by the Fire and Rescue Service, and Manx Telecom.

Fire Officer Peter Killey (pictured) says the launch was the culmination of weeks of hard work:
