Police seek Onchan vandals

by isleofman.com 1st April 2008
Police are appealing for information after a group of drunken youths smashed plant pots and uprooted signs early on Sunday morning.

Officers were called to Wybourn Drive in Onchan shortly after midnight, after a group of 15 to 20 youths were seen walking through the estate.

The teenagers, aged between 16 and 18, had left a house party a short time before, and attacked gardens, causing considerable damage.

Police are appealing for anybody with any information to come forward.

Jason Roberts reports (text, below, from attached audio file):

The gang were spotted by patrols on Governor's Road but ran off across fields to escape police.

Several were detained and questioned by police but officers say they are anxious to trace all those involved.

Householders have been advised to check the outside of their properties for damage and report it to police.

If you have any information about the incident, you can contact police on 631212.
