Hospital stops virus spreading

by isleofman.com 1st April 2008
It seems an outbreak of Viral Gastroenteritis, commonly known as 'winter vomiting virus' is being successfully contained at Noble's Hospital.

A ward was closed after several cases were identified among patients and staff over the weekend. The virus had spread into the hospital from the community.

Consultant Micro-biologist Dr John Wardle says the authorities have been closely monitoring the situation and the measures put in place have been successful (audio file attached):

Patients and visitors to the hospital are being asked to co-operate with additional precautions which have been put in place.
