Manx Telecom has donated a new transit van to the Isle of Man Children's Centre in support of the organisation's Out2Play scheme. MT says the van will be used to transport equipment and staff to outdoor play sessions and will be branded with Out2Play, Manx Telecom and Isle of Man Children's Centre logos. Managing Director Chris Hall describes it as part of MT's ongoing community support, with Out2Play providing opportunities for children across the Island.
Manx Telecom employees chose to support the Children's Centre after they were asked to come up with a corporate driven challenge to enable the company to give something back to the community. As well as the van, Manx Telecom will also be donating a 12-seater minibus with wheelchair access for the Adventure Days scheme, and funding an additional play-worker for twelve months to help with the Out2Play sessions.
To fund the project, Manx Telecom will organise three big events, with the aim of raising £20,000. That sum will be matched by O2, to make a total of £40,000.
