Candidates urged to come forward

A Rushen commissioner is urging people to play a more active part in their communities.

Adrian Tinkler is encouraging individuals to come forward when a number of local authorities advertise vacancies on their respective boards, in the near future.

There will be six contests in the all-Island elections later this month, but a further six authorities will have to re-advertise, because of insufficient candidates.

One such area is Rushen, and Mr Tinkler (pictured) is hoping more people will get involved at local authority level:
