Harvest inspection this weekend

by isleofman.com 4th April 2008
The Solway Harvester has been moved across Douglas Harbour to enable easier access.

Council from the Scottish Sheriff's Office in Edinburgh will board the scallop dredger this weekend, prior to possible proceedings in Scotland.

It comes after attempts to get the owner of the vessel, Richard Gidney, to give evidence moved to the Scottish Courts.

Seven crew members died when the vessel capsized in Millennium Year,
eleven miles off Douglas.

A trial in 2005 collapsed and the owner was acquitted.

The Inquest is still open and no civil proceedings can take place until it closes.
