Tynwald is to be asked to support the development of a reliable, sustainable, self-reliant agriculture industry in the Isle of Man.
Recommendations in a Department of Agriculture report include using the existing ?7.3 million production support budget to provide payments to farmers for land management; something referred to as decoupling; providing a subvention for the meat plant; and increased support for marketing Manx produce.
