Ask the pharmacist?

by isleofman.com 8th April 2008
Pharmacists in the Isle of Man say they are ready, willing and able to ease the pressure on GPs - by offering some front-line treatments themselves.

The UK government is planning to extend the range of services available through local pharmacies - for ailments such as eye infections and stomach upsets.

The idea has been picked up by the Island branch of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society - which has called on Tynwald to take note.

The DHSS says it WILL consider the idea - if it improves patient care.
