Parkinson's Disease awareness

by isleofman.com 8th April 2008
Events will be held around the Isle of Man this week to mark Parkinson’s Disease Awareness Week.

The degenerative condition affects hundreds of people in the Island, including those diagnosed with the disease as well as those who care for them.

Collections will be held in branches of Shoprite and a special service will be held this weekend at Ballaugh Church.

Chairman Isle of Man branch Parkinson’s Disease Society Pamela Shimwell-Mayo (pictured) says modern medicine means Parkinson’s disease is more treatable than ever before (audio file attached):

You can contact Mrs Shimwell-Mayo for more information on 897504.
