Road works cause big problems

by isleofman.com 8th April 2008
A Ramsey woman who has to travel to Douglas for hospital treatment has been speaking about the inconvenience of the ongoing roadworks

Hilary Musson was injured in the accident at the 26th milestone when serving as a marshal during last year's Senior TT.

She has to go the Physiotherapist at least three times a week, and often has other specialist appointments.

On Talking Heads this morning she said she was 30 minutes late for her session yesterday because of the works at Governor's Bridge.

Mrs Musson said friends from the north of the Island had been experiencing similar problems with getting to work on time (audio file attached):

Head of the Roads Policing Unite Inspector Richard Power acknowledges it is frustrating for motorists, but is urging them to be as patient as possible.

He says Braddan Bridge is now fully open, which helps those travelling in from the west, and a number of measures have been put in place to ease congestion in other areas.
