Callister stands again

by isleofman.com 9th April 2008
Broadcaster David Callister will be standing again for the Legislative Council.

In the third round of voting in the House of Keys on Tuesday he finished in a dead heat with Pamela Crowe, when they polled ten votes each.

Mr Callister (pictured) says despite three MHKs being absent from the sitting he retained the support of half the members of the House.

He says his supporters have strongly urged him to continue and their confidence in his ability has encouraged him to continue to the next round of voting.

Mrs Crowe had already confirmed she would be standing again.

Nominations must be in by close of business on Friday, and the fourth round of voting will be at the sitting of the House of Keys on April 22.
