Heated exchanges at Castletown meeting

by isleofman.com 9th April 2008
There was some heated debate at a packed meeting in Castletown's Civic Centre last night.

The evening gave local residents a chance to question developer Roy Tilleard on his Callow's Yard scheme, which aims to modernise a large section of the centre of the old capital.

Vice Chairman of the local authority Richard Ronan says those with reservations about the way the plans are being progressed were very vocal in making their opinions known.

But he also feels the meeting went some way to re-establishing channels of communication (audio file attached):

Mr Tillieard, who was off the Island today, has indicated he will talk to Manx Radio about the meeting tomorrow.
