Big win in women's football

by isleofman.com 10th April 2008
There was a high scoring evening in Manx football yesterday.

Two games were played, with a total of 24 goals.

In the Sure Mobile Premier League Peel beat Corinthians 6-1.

Nigel Shimmin and Gary Christian scored two each, and Rob Cottier and Tony Duggan one apiece.

In women's match between Colby and Douglas Royal the experienced Douglas women were far too strong for a young Colby side and trounced them 17- 0.

Island centre forward Donna Shimmin hit eight goals, with Leanne Ash adding another four, Kim Hicklan three, and Siobhan Lockwood and Becky Cole one each.

The result leaves Douglas Royal remain favourites to win the Sure Mobile womens' football grass league.
