Tibet protests welcomed

Onchan MHK Peter Karran has welcomed protest efforts to increase awareness of the plight of the people of Tibet at the hands of the Chinese Government.

The Beijing Olympics torch relay has been disrupted on its passage through both the UK and France as activists draw attention to the brutality taking place in Tibet.

Mr Karran (pictured) attempted - unsuccessfully - to make his own protest some years ago during a visit to the Island by the Chinese Ambassador to the UK:
