Email problem solved

by isleofman.com 11th April 2008
Manx Telecom is apologising to customers who have experienced problems accessing their emails over the last couple of days.

It appears that an Isle of Man computer was compromised on Tuesday by a virus and the sheer volume of 'spam' this generated put a severe strain on the MT network.

The infected machine has been isolated and traffic queues are now returning to normal, although there are still some isolated problems for people trying to access their webmail accounts.

Manx Telecom's Product Manager Martin Rigby expects normal service to resume over the next 24 hours and asks anyone still affected to call 624624 and follow Option 1 to resolve the issue.
