A Douglas woman who drove while more than three times over the legal limit has had her sentencing adjourned for reports.

Twenty-six year-old Louise Marie Kennedy, of Central Promenade admitted drink driving after being arrested in the early hours of March 21.

Police picked the defendant up after being called by a taxi driver worried about the way a car was being driven.

Edward Oldham reports (text, below, from attached audio file):

The taxi driver had seen a car left in a dangerous position after it was reversed out of Vicarage Road, Braddan.

A short time later he saw Kennedy and a man stagger back to the car.

They got in and the defendant drove off.

When stopped by officers her blood/alcohol level was 241 mg, the legal limit being 80.

Kennedy was bailed until April 29 by High Bailiff Michael Moyle, on the condition she doesn't drive.
