MHK backs suggested planning changes

Malew and Santon MHK Graham Cregeen is pleased with what he says are sensible proposed changes to the Island's planning rules.

A select committee report on the Poacher's Pocket development in Ballasalla will go before Tynwald next week, with members being asked to approve seven amendments to the regulations.

Among other things, the report concluded that Planning Director Ian McCauley made an 'error of judgement' in handling the planning process for the Poacher's.

Mr Cregeen, who called for the committee to be formed, says the local residents' association has also cautiously welcomed the report:
