MHK welcomes planning ruling

Plans to build 12 apartments behind an 18th century manor house in Douglas have been turned down.

It's good news for residents in Farmhill who have been campaigning to stop the development in the grounds of Farmhill Manor - originally a Manx farmhouse dating back to 1430.

Earlier this year, South Douglas MHK Bill Malarkey (pictured) handed a 1,500 strong petition to the planning office.

He says the development was far too big for the site:
