Cruse welcomes new payment

A new ?1,000 payment to help carers get back on their feet after the death of a loved one is being welcomed by the bereavement group Cruse.

The one-off lump sum is in addition to the carer's weekly payment of ?50 per week - which continues for eight weeks after the cared for person's death.

Lorna Trevethan from Cruse says having financial help at a difficult time -with no questions asked - will be a huge help (audio file attached):
