Mental health unit planned

The Department of Health and Social Security is hoping for Tynwald approval for the construction of a new mental health rehabilitation facility within the Ballamona Estate.

It's to replace the existing Tynwald Terrace facility at The Strang, and will provide improved standards of care and reduce the need for patients to move off-island for treatment.

Health Minister Eddie Teare (pictured) says the site is perfect for the new facility:
