Minister to reconsider flouridation leaflets

by isleofman.com 15th April 2008
Health Minister Eddie Teare has been told to reconsider pro-fluoridation leaflets which were due to be sent to all households in the Isle of Man next week.

President of Tynwald Noel Cringle told him to look again at the document after a row about whether it was factually accurate.

The leaflet said the Water Authority was updating legislation to allow fluoride to be added to the Island's tap water.

But it became clear in an emergency debate in Tynwald this evening that the authority had no such policy.

Mr Teare (pictured) said it wasn't his fault the Water Authority hadn't got its act together, but he agreed to look at the leaflets.
