Church window appeal

St George's church in Douglas is hoping the local community will support their fund-raising efforts to restore precious stained glass windows.

Several of the coloured glass panes are broken and others are faded - so funds are needed to help pay for restoration.

A good-as-new sale and raffle is taking place today (Friday) and on Saturday, on the mezzanine at Shoprite in Victoria Road.

The vicar, Venerable Brian Smith says the weather, UV light and general wear-and-tear have taken their toll:
