Douglas Corporation is retaining Andrew Barton Photography Limited for a further year to provide a full media relations service.

The Ramsey-based business was first engaged by the local authority in November 2006, since when it‘s been working in partnership with councillors and officers to raise awareness of the Corporation’s range of services and activities.

Council leader David Christian said: ‘Since securing the communications services of Andrew Barton Photography, the Corporation has benefited from a marked increase in positive media coverage.

‘This is especially welcome as it comes at a time when, in partnership with the public and private sector, we’re developing radical new strategies, policies and services for the people of Douglas.

‘It’s important the Corporation’s role as a major player in the economic, social and cultural development of the Island’s capital is accurately portrayed and we’re delighted how Andrew Barton and his team are promoting our achievements so effectively.’

Andrew Barton said: ‘We’re pleased to be continuing our association with Douglas Corporation at this pivotal stage in its development.

'It’s also extremely gratifying to have our creative expertise in images and words, as well as our exacting levels of customer service, recognised by such an august body.’
