Ministers speak at Majorca conference

The Chief Minister has spoken of the disproportionate effect of the European Union's policy targeting reductions of Carbon Dioxide emissions from aircraft on Island communities.

Tony Brown and DTI Minister David Cretney were addressing the 27th Annual General Assembly of the CPMR (Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions) Islands Commission, a gathering of 25 European island regions, held this year in Majorca.

The main focus of the conference was on balancing environmental concerns with economic growth and maintaining vital off-island transport links.
