Election fever struck Ramsey early when children from Albert Road staged their own poll.
The initiative, organised by the commissioners and the school, was aimed at raising awareness of this week’s election in the town.
Children from year six were given the task of preparing their own manifestos, outlining the things they would like to see addressed, from which six candidates were chosen to go forward to a mini-local election.
The candidates presented their cases to around 40 classmates and journalists before the vote.
Daniel Ntuiabane topped the ballot and was presented with the board’s chain of office.
