Carney gets England North Call

by isleofman.com 22nd April 2008
Vikings Hockey player Zoe Carney has been selected for the North of England under-21 squad after a series of training sessions and trials at Sheffield.

Initially three Island based players were picked for the bigger squad - the other two being Steph Lace from Valkyrs and Zoe Shimmin from Castletown - after being spotted at the under-21 North of England tournament last November.

Zoe Carney will now take part in matches against Scotland and Wales under-21's in June.

Tim Glover spoke to Zoe a couple of weeks ago after she had played for Vikings against Bacchas in a 2-2 draw, and congratulated her on making the final 25 from which she has now been selected:-
