Vikings in Peel next month

by isleofman.com 22nd April 2008
It's on a smaller scale to previous invasions, but Peel will once again be visited by Vikings next month.

The invaders will set up their Holme-town encampment at the local campsite where they will give living history displays, including battle re-enactment, combat training and an insight into daily village life.

Vikings of Mann's Membership Secretary Rodger Gimbert hopes this year's event will help fund larger subsequent ones.

He says there are other benefits as well (audio file attached):

The event takes place on Saturday, May 10, between 12 noon and 5pm.
