New facilities at the Isle of Man's second largest primary school will be officially opened this afternoon.
Work at Peel Clothworkers' has been ongoing since June 2006.
Beth Espey reports (text, below, from attached audio file):
It's cost just over ?3 million pounds to provide Peel Clothworkers' with among other things, a new assembly hall, kitchen, library and special needs unit.
There are currently just shy of 400 pupils on the school register, and that number is likely to increase with the rapid building of new housing in the town.
Headteacher Judith Lund is praising the Department of Education's foresight in improving facilities in order to accommodate future capacity.
The opening ceremony at 2.30 this afternoon will be attended by various politicians, officials from the department of education and local commissioners.
