End of the political road?

by isleofman.com 23rd April 2008
The unsuccessful candidate in yesterday's Legislative Council election is hinting the vote spells the end of her political career.

Former Rushen MHK Pamela Crowe (pictured), who was seeking re-election, received eight votes in yesterday's secret ballot, five short of the number needed to secure the position.

The government will now have to find someone to replace her as Chairman of Isle of Man Post and as a political member of the Department of Health and Social Security.

She says the latter position has given her much satisfaction (audio file attached):

Broadcaster David Callister won the contest with 13 votes, and will serve on the Legislative Coucil for just under five years.
