Sentence on a 31 year-old man who admitted assaulting a police officer has been adjourned for reports.
Sean Andrew Carbutt, from Wakefield in West Yorkshire also admitted being drunk and disorderly, and a further charge of disorderly behaviour on licensed premises.
Inspector Andrew Turner, prosecuting, said all the offences were committed on April 5 inside and outside Nightlife in Ramsey.
The defendant was put out of the club at 1.25 am following an exchange of words with another customer. He became obstructive and argumentative and wrestled with security staff outside the club, which led to the shirt of one of the men being torn.
Police who were in the Market Square arrested him but he kicked out at an officer as he was being placed into the police van, grazing his face.
The defendant told police he was 'level eight out of ten drunk' and could remember very little of what happened.
He accepted that he must have struck the officer, but said he hadn't intended to.
Carbutt was bailed until May 13.
