Football - the Isle of Man lost the opening game of the Umbro Quadrangular tournament.

Goals in each half by Seamus Crowe gave the Republic of Ireland a 2-0 victory at The Bowl last night.

Home Manager Kevin Manning says the Irish were a strong side, but he was disappointed with the referee as the game ended with a rash of bookings:-

In the evening's other tie, Scotland defeated Northern Ireland 4-3 in a thriller at Ramsey.

The Manx face Scotland at Peel today with the match kicking-off at 6 o'clock. At the same time, the Republic of Ireland face Northern Ireland at Rushen.
