A 33 year-old Douglas man has been jailed for 15 month prison sentence, after admitting possessing cannabis resin with intent to supply.

Steven Robert Gill, of Springfield Avenue appeared before Deemster Doyle at a Court of General Jail.

He was arrested at a house in Onchan following a search of his home in Douglas by officers from the drug squad.

They found four bars of cannabis resin, each weighing nine ounces, along with a part-used nine ounce bar in a holdall in the attic.

The cannabis weighed 1,154 grammes and had an Isle of Man street value of ?3,254.

Advocate Paul O'Neill said Gill was 'cannabis dependent', but was now at a crossroads in his life and wished to become drug free. He said he pleaded guilty immediately after his arrest and asked for full credit to be given.

Deemster Doyle told Gill to take all the offers of help that would be made available to him.
