Charity seeks help from Tony Brown

The Sunset Island Festival says it’s been forced to write to Chief Minister Tony Brown over delays in applying to register as a charity.

The former organisers of the Isle of Woman event had tried to register as a company and a charity before the festival’s debut this year.

But long delays meant the charity fundraiser was threatened with cancellation, prompting the committee to seek help from the government.

Carole Male of the Sunset Island festival says she can’t understand why the process took so long, but things now seem to be improving (audio file attached):
