Commissioners advised to listen

New members of the Island's local authorities were getting down to business today, as they began a four year term of office.

For those new to politics, it could be a steep learning curve as they take on a range of public duties and responsibilities.

Local Government Minister John Shimmin says commissioners should listen to local residents, to keep in touch with public opinion.

On Talking Heads he told Dan Davies the four commissioners who lost their seats in Onchan paid the price for doing what they thought was right:
