Governor's Bridge is due to reopen to traffic by six o'clock this evening (Sunday) following five weeks of major roadworks.
A new section between the Nook and a newly-constructed roundabout at the bridge has been built parallel to the old road and will eventually become the route down from the Mountain Road.
Highways Division staff have been working around the clock to make sure this phase of the project was done in the allotted time.
