Hislop inquiry in Edinburgh today

by isleofman.com 28th April 2008
An inquiry will begin today (Monday) into the death of eleven-times TT winner Steve Hislop.

The Onchan resident, also a twice British Superbike Champion, died in July 2003 in a helicopter crash near Hawick, in the Scottish Borders.

Last year, the Scottish authorities decided more investigation was warranted.

An earlier Air Accident Investigation Branch report said pilot error could have caused the tragedy, but aircraft malfunction could not be ruled out.

The inquiry will take place at Edinburgh Sheriff's Court.
