Witness appeal after promenade incident

by isleofman.com 28th April 2008
A man in his 70s was knocked off his bicycle on Douglas promenade yesterday.

It happened near to the War Memorial at about 6pm.

Police say it would appear two middle-aged men who were walking on the prom became involved in a verbal altercation with the cyclist over use of the designated cycle-path, which led to one of the men pushing the cyclist to the ground.

The promenade was very busy at this time and police are asking any members of the public who saw what happened to come forward.

The number numbers to rings are 631212 for Police Headquarters, or 0800 555 111 for the anonymous Crimestoppers line.
