There's praise for the Department of Local Government, for the efforts it made to promote last week's local authority general election.
Martyn Quayle, MHK and Juan Turner, MLC told Manx Radio it was an improvement on four years ago, and contributed to the encouraging turnout.
The two members of Tynwald were at Marown on Thursday evening, where Returning Officer Ian Maule said he was impressed by the age range of voters.
Mr Turner says it bodes well for the future (audio file attached):
The turnout in Marown was 35 per cent, but no figures are available for the number of young voters.
Mary Corlett lost her seat, and Mary Jane Douglas was voted onto the board in her place.
