Launch of 'Tell Me' display

A celebration display of work by some of the Island's school children for the 'Tell Me' project opened at Isle of Man Airport this afternoon.

Year six pupils from southern primary schools and Castle Rushen year nine students have been interviewing older people, to gain first-hand accounts of history from those who were there.

The display at Ronaldsway includes interviews, photos, artefacts and power-point presentations, and is open to the public for the next two weeks.

Castle Rushen youngsters visited Southlands day centre to hear the memories of those who lived through the Second World War.

History teacher Laura Williams says it proved a superb experience (audio file attached):
