A Lonan man who was twice caught more than two times over the drink-drive limit, in the space of eight days, has been jailed for three months.
Forty-five year-old Mark Nicholas Dunne, of Baldrine Park admitted the two offences, which occurred on February 12 and 19.
When arrested on suspicion of drink-driving in School Road, Onchan on February 12, Dunne had a blood/alcohol level of 180mg, compared with a legal limit of 80.
Then on the 19th, despite the licensee of the pub he was in warning him he shouldn't drive, he set off for home and was stopped by police.
His reading on that occasion was 188mg.
Dunne's advocate said he made a serious error of judgement, he was very remorseful and would almost certainly lose his job as a result of what had happened.
High Bailiff Michael Moyle said it was the defendant's decision to drive, not his.
In addition to the prison sentence he banned Dunne from driving for five years.
