Manxman Pete Geddes is at Buckingham Palace this morning, to receive his MBE from the Queen.
Mr Geddes, from the Laxey Mines Research Group, was recognised in the New Year's Honours list for services to the Island's industrial heritage.
He was behind the recovery and reconstruction of the second water wheel at Laxey, and has since been restoring an 18 foot diameter wheel at a former corn mill in Glen Vine.
