Hadrian's Wall challenge

by isleofman.com 3rd May 2008
A group of civil defence volunteers from the Isle of Man will spend much of the next five days walking the length of one of Britain's most famous structures.

The eight-strong team has set itself the goal of completing the 84 mile-long Hadrian's Wall path, from Bowness on Solway, to Newcastle.

The trip is seen as a good team building exercise, testing planning and operational skills, as well as endurance.

In the past year, Civil Defence volunteers from the Island have also attended mountain rescue training in Bowland, and a winter skills course in Wales.
