Motorcyling mourns Martin Finnegan

The motorcycling fraternity is mourning the loss of TT star Martin Finnegan.

The 29 year-old from Lusk, in County Dublin, was killed yesterday (Saturday) while racing in the Tandragee 100 meeting in Northern Ireland.

Racing was abandoned after the incident, which also involved three spectators, two men and a woman who were taken to hospital.

It’s understood the spectators do not have life-threatening injuries.

Finnegan was a multiple Irish senior road race champion and he won the junior newcomers event at the Manx Grand Prix in 2000.

In recent years, Finnegan had a clutch of fourth place finishes in the TT and also a podium spot thee years ago in the Duke Superbike TT (audio file attached):

He leaves a wife and baby daughter.
