by isleofman.com 4th May 2008
Terry Qualtrough took the highest award in the Manx Music Festival on Saturday night.

Guild judges presented him with the Cleveland Medal (pictured) as the festival reached its climax at the Villa Marina.

The bass singer beat the winners of the five other special solo classes for individual voice types, after singing a test piece by Handel, plus one of his own choice.

He chose a piece by Michael Head (audio file attached):

Glynn Morris from Cheshire won the Songs from the Musicals prize and Harry Galbraith and Graham Crowe won the Billown Rose Bowl in the Vocal Duets Final.
