LVP leader on his local authority hopes

Liberal Vannin leader Peter Karran says he hopes to change and empower local authorities after the party’s success at the polls.

Last month the party won a number of seats on local authorities across the Island, most notably in Douglas.

With the ability to vote en masse to further party policy, Mr Karran (pictured) wants to change the nature of debates in Douglas Council and the various commissioners’ boards.

He also hopes the LVP can reverse the downward trend of local authority power:
