LIfeboat launch

by isleofman.com 7th May 2008
Douglas Coastguard was called out last night (Mon) to go the aid of a woman who was seen heading out to Conister Rock despite an incoming tide.

She was with a small group of others who made their way back to shore unaided.

Douglas inshore lifeboat was launched and the 29 year old was helped from the rock by two lifeboat crew.

Dive boat Endeavour also assisted in the rescue.

The woman was returned to the Battery pier where she was checked by paramedics.

The Coastguard say the incident shows the importance of checking the tide times before going out to Conister Rock.
