It was a busy night for fire brigades on the Island last night (Wed).
There was a large gorse fire at Port Grenaugh at around 7pm followed an hour later by a grill pan fire at a house in Ramsey which required firemen wearing breathing apparatus and a second similar incident at a house in Douglas.
Then at midnight there was a large gorsefire in the Druidale area. Two appliances from Kirk Michael attended and extinguished around four acres of grass and scrubland.
Fire officers from Kirk Michael were called out again at around 3.45 am along with colleagues from Ramsey to attend a serious house fire at property on the Bride Road.
