A 19-year-old man who admitted four separate drink-related offences has been fined a total of ?1000 by the High Bailiff.

Carl Francis Kelch, of Hazel Crescent, Pulrose, pleaded guilty to causing damage to a car, provoking behaviour, being drunk and incapable and being drunk and disorderly.

The prosecution said the damage to the car and provoking behaviour occurred in the early hours of March 15th outside the Star Grill on Marina Road in Douglas.

Kelch made racist comments and shouted other abuse at staff and then kicked a van outside after he was removed from the premises.

Following his arrest he told officers he was very drunk and couldn't recall the incident.

In the early hours of April fourth Kelch was found lying in the garden of a house in Pulrose, he couldn't stand unaided and was subsequently arrested.

And at 5.15am on April 27th police were called to a disturbance in Hillside Avenue, where they found him in a dishevelled and agitated state.

He started screaming at officers and wouldn't calm down so he was arrested again.

In addition to the fine High Bailiff Michael Moyle banned Kelch from on-licenced premises and also from buying or being sold alcohol for 12 months.
