The inquest has been opened and adjourned into the death of a 78 year-old Maughold woman.
Retired telephonist June Sheath passed away at Noble’s Hospital last month.
Mrs Sheath was admitted to hospital after a suspected fall at her home.
She was discharged on April 17 but then re-admitted.
Her condition deteriorated and she died on April 20.
Coroner Michael Moyle said he wanted to look into the circumstances of the alleged fall and also that the correct procedures were followed when Mrs Sheath was admitted to hospital, as she was on certain types of medication.
He adjourned the hearing for further inquiries and offered his condolences to Mrs Sheath's family.
He also released the body so funeral arrangements could be made.
