'Bring up the Rear' and raise funds

The organisers of a charity walk in aid of Bowel Cancer UK are calling for as many of us as possible to get involved in the event a week tomorrow.

The cheekily-named 'Bringing Up the Rear' also aims to raise awareness of the disease and highlight the need for a screening clinic in the Isle of Man.

It's the first time a fundraising event for the charity has been held here.

Heather Norman, who survived bowel cancer and has helped put the event together, says financial constraints have so far put paid to the Island having such a facility (audio file attached):
